German Wehrmacht Combat Gas Mask Can Late War With "Last Ditch" Closing Knob, ago 1944 + ebd 44 strap.

You can see the typical low quality construction of the end of the War. The steel strap loop is nearly over the closing device, it is not straight when you close. Paint is ok, still the good quality one. The maker is ago, (E. Luft, Eisen u. Metallwarenfabr., Tetschen a/Elbe), very well known for the Karbid steel lamps. The gas mask cans from this maker are not easy to find. This one is in Top condition as found with its original long and short straps. Long strap is ebd 44 marked, the rubber is still supple, even when you see creases, it is not dried. Two small dents on the can as you can see in photos. It still has the aluminium sleeve inside which is also not common with these late war a cans. The closing knob is the simplified Late War variant. Both buckle and hook from straps are in bare steel, same for the knobs.
